DVF really knows how to get our attention. To launch her latest handbag for Fall 2015, Diane von Furstenberg turned to Peter Lindbergh to direct a short film for the campaign. And since the bag is named Secret Agent, the film stars Karlie Kloss as a seductive spy.
Styled by Edward Enninful, Kloss parades through the city dodging paparazzi in true fashion: wearing a DVF dress and carrying the new Secret Agent bag. According to the website, the DVF Secret Agent “is the ultimate day-to-night bag: a streamlined tote that conceals a detachable, zip off go-anywhere clutch. Lightweight and customizable, she is always ready at a moment’s notice, the ultimate accomplice in everything you do.” Yes, you read that right. The Secret Agent is essentially two bags in one—the larger tote for daytime, and the clutch for nighttime.
Kloss showcases how the bag transforms during her sultry James Bond-esque mission in the film. “The DVF Secret Agent bag and the character Karlie plays are really metaphors for the DVF woman,” von Furstenberg said. “She is a businesswoman, a mother, a lover, a friend. She is always on the go. Now we have created the ultimate accomplice for every facet of the life she lives fully.”
The good news? The Secret Agent Large Leather and Croc Tote is available for pre-order on DVF for $498 and is expected to ship on August 31. While it might seem a bit steep, we like to think of it as getting two bags for the price of one. And if you haven’t seen the short film yet, check it out below:
