It seems like Taylor Swift has ran out of celebrities from her own generation to hit up the “1989” stage, so she called upon alternative rock singer Alanis Morissette to join the circus that is Swifty’s 2015 tour.
Alanis didn’t just do a curtsy before shimmying off stage like some of the other models and actresses, though, instead she graced us with her smash 1995 hit “You Oughta Know” at LA’s Staples Center on Monday night.
Heck, Taylor even joined in for some serious generational poetry. OK, she mostly danced around in her leather-clad ensemble while Alanis did the hard yards that made the tune a smash hit 20 years ago.
“Alanis singing ‘You Oughta Know’ last night was something I’ll never forget. I loooove her,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. ICYMI, the night was full of highlights with Ellen DeGeneres totally showing Taylor up in a copycat 1989 ensemble. #NailedIt.
