Stuart Weitzman is rolling out its very first television commercial and is tapping a familiar face to help make the big debut. Yes, you guessed it – Gisele Bündchen, who has starred in several of the brand’s previous campaigns, is involved and she is looking as gorgeous as ever in Weitzman’s footwear.
The commercial shows the model busting the electric slide (in a fetching pair of Weitzman KOKO stretch plonge leather peeptoe booties) alsongside a group of shirtless male models and one fellow in all black. The commerical, oddly enough, was inspired by Taylor Swift according to Weitzman. “This year, Taylor Swift asked for like, a dozen pairs for all of her changes [on the ‘1989 World Tour’],” he told WWD. I went to her show in Philly and I was floored. She’s big with all the 15-year-olds, but I wrote her a note that says, ‘You now have a grandfather as one of your fans.’ We make the shoes with extra cushion so she can dance and thought, ‘Hey, we make dance shoes…maybe we should find some way to show them off.’”
And so, we see Ms. Bünchen breaking it down, stomping and shimmying in some of Weitzman’s high heels to show just how comfortable the shoes are for a night (or day) full of dancing. Mario Testino was tapped to direct the commercial and he was the perfect man to capture Bündchen’s smooth moves.
The commercial is set to air during the MTV Video Music Awards August 30, but in the meantime, you can catch it in the video above.
