NSFW: Target PA System Gets Hijacked by Porn Audio for 5 Whole Minutes

Before you go home and tell your parents/roomies/partner how bad your day at work was, take a moment to reflect on what Target employees of Campbell, California experienced on October 14.

The department store, which caters to customers of all ages, blasted porn through their PA system for over 5 minutes at around 10.30 a.m on Wednesday, because who needs a morning coffee when you’re served with a hump-day wakeup call like that?

Thanks to social media user Gina Young there is documented evidence of the incident across YouTube and Facebook, which means we don’t have to write the obscenities down here for you, because you can just watch and listen to it for yourself (below). Please, if you are at work, put your headphones in.

This happened today at Target in Campbell, CA. Porn blasting over the intercom throughout the store. People offered to help me cover my twins ears. Others threw there stuff down and walked out. Employees were running around everywhere. Picking and hanging up phones, which worked....for about two minutes before it started up again. People were screaming at employees, video taping, some laughing some disgusted. It was terribly awkward.

Gina explained on her Facebook page that the event was "terribly awkward", with customers screaming at employees who "were running around everywhere" and trying to combat the issue by picking and hanging up phones. She added that this appeared to fix the problem "for about two minutes before it started up again".

"People offered to help me cover my twins ears. Others threw there [sic] stuff down and walked out," she explained, noting that there were mixed reviews with "some laughing and some disgusted".

Target explained to the LA Times that it is investigating the incident and wants its customers to know that it is taking the matter "very seriously". A Target spokeswoman said, "We are actively reviewing the situation with the team to better understand what happened and to help ensure this doesn’t happen again."

While it might not happen again, it has apparently happened before. Recently in July, shoppers inside a San Luis Obispo Target store reported hearing porn over the loudspeaker, before being evacuated until the staff tried to figure out how to shut the audio down.

Oh dear.
