Dior Releases Holiday Video, Won’t Announce New Creative Director Any Time Soon

While many speculated that Alber Elbaz would become creative director at Dior, the fashion house isn’t moving so fast. The next couture and ready-to-wear collections (Autumn/Winter 2016) will be designed in-house, according to WWD. The brand believes it can meet financial goals without a lead designer and we can only hope they’re right given that Pieter Mulier, Raf Simons’ “right hand,” just left the company as well.

The jewelry line seems to be faring better. Victoire de Castellane, creative director of Dior jewelry, recently illustrated a festive video featuring the Rose de Vents collection. Castellane is featured in the animated clip, making the rest of the world jealous as Santa showers her with Dior jewelry for Christmas. The collection is a tribute to Christian Dior, inspired by his lucky charm and favorite flower: the rose. In this time of uncertainty for the fashion house, it’s good they can still spread some holiday cheer.
