Fashion fave Marie Claire Australia is responding to the tough and fickle editorial landscape, having launched a brand new e-commerce site for a stronger online and brand presence, and, of course, to give the people what they want.
The platform, dubbed Styled By Marie Claire, provides clothing and accessory collections for consumers, which have been put together by the title’s editors and fashion contributors.
“It’s another brand extension, it’s a further footprint, because our whole idea at Pacific magazines is about putting the customer first,” former Marie Claire editor and Pacific Magazines executive, Jackie Frank, told Ragtrader. “We are audience-centric rather than print-centric and whatever it is our audience wants, that’s where we need to play.”
Collections will be put together by Marie Claire‘s fashion team as well as loved local designers, all of which will be purchased from sites such a David Jones, Net-A-Porter and Shopbop, to name a few.
Think of it as a highly stylish curation; a way to shop your favourite pieces in a visually pleasing format similar to that of a magazine page. Plus, if you’re having styling woes, the fashion girls take out all the hard work for you by creating looks which are ready to go. “It really is about bringing the brand to life and it’s about bringing our assets, our knowledge and our authority and dialling it up,” Jackie said.
This is a global first for the brand, and Jackie hints that more Pacific Magazines titles may follow Marie Claire‘s lead. You can get in on the action here.
