Kylie Jenner is taking the marketing efforts for her cosmetics line to a new, unprecedented level. Up until now, her promotion strategy included images of lipstick dripping off her mouth and the occasional Snapchat from inside a lab. Today, she graduated to music videos to promote her newly-announced lip gloss line hitting stores Friday.
The clip is puzzling to say the least. With a Louis Vuitton scarf tied over her hair, Kylie drives the getaway car after her girl gang gets into a violent scuffle over money — while pausing to apply their Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss ever so seductively. It’s Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” but not as clever or convincing. And we’re still trying to figure out what any of it has to do with beauty products.
To drive home the fact that Kylie’s friends make terrible “bad girls,” the words “So Cute,” “Literally” and “Like” fill the screen. Because that’s totally how criminals talk, right?
Thankfully, April Fools’ Day is today so we’ll consider this a prank. Good one, Kylie!
