This Lemonade-Inspired Coloring Book is the Ultimate Form of Therapy

The ultimate form of therapy has arrived. Behold, the Lemonade coloring book.

For years, adult coloring books have topped Amazon bestseller lists and anyone who’s ever put pigmented pencil to paper will readily tell you why: “Coloring definitely has therapeutic potential to reduce anxiety, create focus or bring [about] more mindfulness,” says Marygrace Berberian, a certified art therapist and the Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Graduate Art Therapy Program at NYU. Research shows that coloring inside the lines is essentially akin to meditation. Now, combine that feeling with the transcendental state we assume when experiencing Beyoncé’s incredible new visual album and you might just achieve nirvana.

All this has been made possible by Paris-based illustrator Jessie Kanelos Weiner who, after taking in Lemonade, was inspired to translate the emotional message of the film into something tactile. “I am always on the lookout for engaging topics for coloring pages,” Jessie shared with Cosmopolitan. “Since I’m a big Beyoncé fan, after I listened to Lemonade on repeat for 24 hours, I envisioned the horizontal narrative of the album as a mini coloring book.”

Weiner’s initial impulse was to create a double coloring page corresponding to each chapter of the saga but, as the artist told Mashable, she “ended up doing more of a greatest hits with five pages.” The result? A series of gorgeous, intricate illustrations featuring some of Lemonade’s most symbolic, emotional and, of course, fashionable moments. We’re certain a copy will wind up on Blue Ivy’s shelf.
