Kaia Gerber Proves She Was Literally Born to Model for Marc Jacobs Beauty

Lily-Rose Depp for Chanel Fragrance, Zoe Kravitz for YSL Beauty and now Kaia Gerber for Marc Jacobs Beauty — 2016 has been quite a year for celebrity offspring with industry connections and their moms’ knack for modeling.

On Thursday, Marc Jacobs Beauty revealed #coolteen Kaia Gerber as its newest face. Yes, the IMG signee, Breakthrough Model of the Year and face of Pop magazine’s September issue (her first solo cover, we might add) is about to be swimming in all the complimentary Air Blush, Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer and Fineliner she can carry. (Insert wistful sigh here.)

In the behind-the-scenes shots of Kaia’s David Sims-lensed Spring 2017 Marc Jacobs Beauty campaign, the 15-year-old beauty rocks a hyper-teased 80s-inspired halo to rival Goth Goddess Kendall Jenner’s locks in the RTW division’s Fall 2016 ads (said gravity-defying hair made possible by Guido Palau). Diane Kendal did Kaia’s fresh-faced yet disco-worthy makeup (dramatic, colorful eyeliner is the look for fall — now you know). As for her outfit, which is not the subject of the campaign but we’ll talk about it anyway, Kaia pulls off prints on prints on prints. Her hoodie is a menagerie of kaleidoscopic cheetah spots and tiger stripes, her zebra-patterned pants culminate in a checkered waistband. So daring, so fabulous, so Marc.

“I’m so excited and honored that my first beauty campaign is with Marc Jacobs, an icon in the fashion industry,” Gerber gushed in an interview with Allure. “I’m obsessed with his beauty products, and like everything else he does, Marc Jacobs Beauty makes you feel feminine and playful.”

Suffice it to say, though the apple may not have fallen far from the Revlon and L’Oréal-flaunting tree, Kaia’s blazed her way out of mom Cindy Crawford’s long-reaching, supermodelesque shadow.

…And now let us sit patiently and wait for her inevitable runway debut.
