Kim Kardashian’s Robbery Could Mean the End of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’

When those five men broke into the Hôtel de Pourtalès, gagged and bound Kim Kardashian and made off with over 10 million dollars worth of jewelry, they didn’t just deprive Kim’s engagement ring of its bigger and better twin, they robbed the world of a cultural phenomenon. According to Us Weekly, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is “on hold indefinitely” while Kim recovers from the traumatic event and reevaluates how much of her personal life she makes public.

In a statement released this Thursday, a spokesperson for E! (the network that’s hosted the reality show for nearly a decade) wrote “Kim’s well-being is our core focus right now. No decision has been made as to when production will resume.” As one would hope, the film crew did not show up at Kim’s apartment after the robbery, nor have they filmed reaction interviews with any of the Kardashians/Jenners/Wests. At the moment, Kim’s reportedly “canceled everything for the next several weeks and will not be working.”

While the French police believe the robbery may have been an inside job, many, including Karl Lagerfeld, have expressed the misguided opinion that the reality star was in some way responsible for her own attack. According to People, even Kim is “in shock and blaming herself. She’s tearing herself up that she Snapchatted the ring so much and wore it all the time. This incident is making her question everything. How she dresses, what she does.”

We already know that Kourtney’s ready to stop Keeping Up, but it’s hard to imagine the world’s most followed family leaving the small screen for good. We’ll keep you updated on any news of a return (or cancellation) date, and in the meantime, might we suggest you fill your Sunday night void with Westworld (no affiliation to Kanye)?
