Reese Witherspoon has come a long way since her iconic turn as Legally Blonde‘s Elle Woods, who taught us all that strong women can stick it to society’s expectations and succeed at whatsoever they choose, as long as they never lose faith in themselves or let others’ douchebaggery stand in their way.

Since then, Reese Witherspoon has continued to inspire us – going on to win an Oscar, launching her own production company and fashion line, raising a family and actively campaigning for a number of international charities – all while learning from her past mistakes (*cough* Legally Blonde 2 *cough*).

And now, she’s coming to impart some of that wisdom upon her Aussie fans at the touring Simpatico Connection Conference, which is due to hit our shores this July.

Naomi Watts Is Photoshopped Into Oblivion on This Cover of The Edit (Forum Buzz)

Just as our forums declared Allure‘s wonderfully natural and unretouched April 2016 cover with Amy Adams a success in hopes that other publications would follow suit, The Edit releases a truly horrifying cover featuring an overly airbrushed Naomi Watts. On the cover lensed by Laurie Bartley, the barely recognizable Aussie actress reclines in a satin Saint Laurent dress. Our forums were left a little startled over the outcome of Naomi’s latest shoot since we’ve been huge advocates of everything Net-a-Porter’s digital magazine produces.

But our forum members weren’t afraid to let loose this time. “I am fighting my urge to write in caps – the Photoshop in the first photo is an abomination. She should sue them for it. They literally made her look like a Lana Del Rey/pig hybrid,” complained a horrified dodencebt.

“They made her look 17 years old,” added a stunned DutchHomme. (more…)

Amy Adams Shows How Fresh an Unretouched Cover Can Look for Allure (Forum Buzz)

Our forums aren’t afraid to call out magazines for excessive use of Photoshop and this month Allure puts other mainstream fashion titles to shame. The beauty-focused magazine features Amy Adams wearing virtually no makeup as the sea breeze catches her unstyled hair and she flashes a warm and inviting smile. Photographed by Carter Smith and styled by Paul Cavaco, Amy wears a vibrant orange silk georgette dress by Michael Kors Collection on the effortless and welcoming cover.

Of course, forum members rejoiced over the idea of a Photoshop-free cover. “I love this. Feels so fresh!” approved DutchHomme immediately.

“She looks fantastic! Like 20 years younger than she actually is fantastic. The cover and the second image in which she is wearing the orange dress are sublime. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look better in photographs… The perfection of the cover and the corresponding images in the editorial almost make up for the highly underwhelming Bella Hadid and Naomi Campbell covers…” chimed in vavavinny. Rihanna Addresses Rumored Beyoncé Rivalry: ‘I Can Only Do Me’

Rihanna is back on the cover of Vogue Magazine for the fourth time. While we’ll never tire of seeing the gorgeous pop star in couture fashions (in this case, a Tom Ford gown), you can’t help but think the fashion bible needs more black friends. At least the cover story presents something new.

The Work singer finally addresses the rumors of a rivalry with Beyoncé. Writer Steff Yotka implies that the Internet started buzzing about a conflict between the two divas when Beyoncé’s Formation was released during Rihanna’s Anti album rollout. But we’ve heard murmurs about tension for as long as we can remember. And claims of a “rivalry” are often amplified by the fact that they’ve never collaborated on a song together and they take one tense picture together annually (either at the Met Gala or the Roc Nation brunch).
