Is This Vogue China Cover the Best Use of Photoshop Ever? (Forum Buzz)

We’re forever calling out magazines for their disastrous attempts at using Photoshop to enhance fashion photography, but Vogue China amazed the heck out of us this month. The magazine produced a warm, breezy and refreshing cover for February 2016, enlisting beauties Sasha Pivovarova and Anja Rubik to cover the issue, which was lensed by Chen Man. The girls each wear an ethereal creation by Etro while standing before the dramatic landscape of Shanghai. Or did they?

Our forum members were left positively startled. “Stunning cover! Sasha and Anja both look so gorgeous!” Nepenthes praised straight away.

“What a gorgeous cover, the light is just perfection, they look angelic. Chen Man is always a great welcome for them, her covers are great!” approved Miss Dalloway.

Also showing great enthusiasm toward the cover was JennaaMonroe: “Literally the casting is spot on! This cover is so refreshing, Sasha and Anja always remind me of when I first started reading Vogue avidly. I’m really excited to see them together on a cover.” (more…)

No Surprise Here: Rihanna Named America’s Most Marketable Celebrity

Bitch better have her endorsement money! Rihanna sells out every product she promotes from Puma sneakers to sheer furry socks. With her proven record of driving sales, we’re not surprised to learn a study by The NPD Group named her the most marketable celebrity in America. Bow down. 

After assessing 1,000 celebrities and 2,500 brands using the Brandlink database, the study confirmed that Rihanna is the strongest celebrity endorser, with Beyoncé coming in second and Usher and Ne-Yo tying for third. Rihanna’s score of 367, based on the number of brands she could strongly endorse, is three times higher than the average A-list celebrity including Angelina Jolie.

And if you think Rihanna can only sell MAC Cosmetics makeup and River Island clothes, you’re sadly mistaken. According to the study, the singer would even be a good spokesperson for the automotive company Jeep. We vaguely recall Rihanna riding around in a Jeep with Oprah in Barbados so this obviously makes perfect sense.

Reese Witherspoon Oozes Old Hollywood Glamour on Harper’s Bazaar (Forum Buzz)

Harper’s Bazaar sure has a thing for blondes lately, with Kate Hudson underwhelming greatly on the cover of the current double issue and Reese Witherspoon starring on its newest offering for February. Returning to the cover of the American fashion bible for the first time since 2007, Reese flashes an energetic smile and oozes Old Hollywood glamour with Rita Hayworth-esque waves, a red lip and a red dress from Michael Kors.

Our forum members had pretty mixed reactions to Bazaar’s new cover. “It’s 2016, and we are STILL bombarded with Reese for over two decades now. Beyond sick of seeing her, Cate, Nicole and Charlize etc at this point, just sick of it!!! Bazaar needs a major, major change, it’s beyond a joke now, and the art direction is supremely dated!” Miss Dalloway ranted.

Watch: Adele Covers Nicki Minaj and the Spice Girls in the Best Carpool Karaoke Session Yet

If there’s any celebrity we’d book for a session of carpool karaoke, it’s Adele. We spend our nights belting out her songs already (while sobbing and binge eating ice cream we should add). Why not invite her to our impassioned performance of “All I Ask” at the top of our lungs?

James Corden is living out our pop music dreams with a carpool karaoke segment featuring Adele last night. It’s safe to say the pop star’s singalong may be his best session yet (sorry, One Direction). Not only does Adele perform songs from her last two albums but she joins the The Late Late Show host for an epic rendition of Wannabe by the Spice Girls.

And who knew she could rap? Adele nails Nicki Minaj’s verse from Monster so convincingly that even Nicki Minaj was impressed. She tweeted “Pull thru [sic], QUEEN!!!!! #Adele #Monster the attitude & fingers to match. #Oh #Ok #Iconic.” 

Of course, Corden didn’t pass up the opportunity for a well-timed Hello joke, a nod to the first single from Adele’s record-breaking album. He starts the session by speaking her famous lyrics into the phone: “Hello, it’s me. I was wondering after all these years if you’d like to meet.” Nailed it.

Kylie Jenner Asks Fans to Name Her New Lip Kit, Hilarity Ensues

Back when Kylie Jenner’s lip kit first sold out, the reality star promised to release new shades in 2016. She’s making good on her pledge with a new kit debuting on Valentine’s Day. 

Exhausted from the mental strain of naming her last three kits (Dolce K, Candy K and True Brown K), Kylie asked her fans to come up with a moniker for the new pink color. They immediately flooded her Instagram page with name suggestions that either sounded like a Disney character (“Princess K”) or were too vulgar to print.   (more…)

ELLE’s 5 Covers for Its Annual Women in TV Issue Receive Rave Reviews (Forum Buzz)

ELLE did a fabulous job with Rooney Mara last month as our forums showed the cover a ton of praise. The magazine appears to continue its mini wave of success with the February issue after unveiling five covers featuring five of TV’s hottest stars. For ELLE‘s annual Women in TV Issue, the title photographed Priyanka Chopra, Viola Davis, Olivia Wilde and Julia Louis-Dreyfus along with Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson.

One cover in particular seemed to reign supreme. “Priyanka’s giving me sexy and deranged all at once but I love it. She’s like the sexiest person in the insane asylum waking up in the morning,” said A.D.C.
