Jennifer Lopez as You’ve Never Seen Her Before on W’s May Cover (Forum Buzz)

Leave it to W magazine to deliver cover stars we actually WANT to see on the front of our favorite fashion glossies as we constantly complain about the same old faces staring back at us on newsstands. The publication gave us three fresh faces last month, a trio of girls no other magazine would dare to profile, and now W shows Jennifer Lopez in a whole new light on its May 2016 offering. There’s no sign of J.Lo’s usual glitzy, over-the-top or bejeweled outfits here as Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin photographed the songstress wearing a simple monochrome Chanel look styled by Edward Enninful. Yet there’s something else that’s different and we just can’t pinpoint what exactly.

Forum members ignited discussion straight away. “I was so excited when I saw the title, but they really messed up with the cover. Did they manipulate her cheekbones?” asked a suspicious MDNA.

“The cover photo is a little too young for her IMO…” said an underwhelmed kenndale. (more…)

Taylor Swift Is Barely Recognizeable on Vogue’s May Cover (Forum Buzz)

American Vogue is on a popstar roll in 2016, having served up Adele for MarchRihanna emerging from water last month, and now Taylor Swift is unveiled as Vogue’s May cover subject. But you may not recognize #swifty, as stylist Tonne Goodman and photographic duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott show off the singer in a whole new light. Sporting a blonder-than-usual shaggy hairstyle and showing some skin wearing a slinky Saint Laurent dress teamed with chunky black Vetements boots, the usual prim and proper Swift looks like a true high-fashion model.

But the real question still remains: were our feisty forum members feeling it? “Singers for three consecutive months? Also by M&M?” questioned a disapproving zzzyao76.

“I’m so sick to death of pop stars on Vogue. Plus, I dont really see what’s so exceptional about this makeover, she hardly looks that different,” added an underwhelmed Benn98. (more…)

Lottie Moss and Lucky Blue Smith Pose for Vogue Paris’ ‘Desperate’ May Cover (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Paris is without a doubt feeling the younger generation of fashion personalities in 2016. Gigi Hadid took her clothes off for March, Kaia Gerber with mother Cindy Crawford were selected for April, and now Kate Moss’ little sister Lottie Moss poses alongside Lucky Blue Smith for the May 2016 cover. Photographed by famed photographer Mario Testino, the up-and-coming duo look right at home cozying up on the studio floor wearing glitzy Saint Laurent outfits selected by Emmanuelle Alt.

Obviously, the cover begged for immediate debate. “LOL! This is so bad! What would Alt do without this grey background… Lottie gets the cover and Raquel [Zimmermann] doesn’t? Where the hell is justice? I thought Kendall’s cover was the worst… apparently, not!” complained a furious KissMiss straight away.

“Absolutely horrible. I couldn’t think of worse ‘models’ to put on a cover. Indeed, even worse than Kendall,” added Les_Sucettes. (more…)

The Internet Is Freaking Out About This Image of Victoria Beckham in Vogue China (Forum Buzz)

If magazines today teach us anything, it’s that they just love to use Photoshop — and our forums don’t hold back when it comes to ratting them out. As reported last week, Victoria Beckham stars on the cover of Vogue China this month and is featured in a lengthy editorial spread to coincide with the cover appearance. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Beckham was captured in a classic studio setting while striking some dynamic poses. However, one of the images has come under fire for an apparent Photoshop disaster with news outlets and social media claiming that part of Victoria’s thigh was removed in post-production.
