The Bondi Hipsters Spoof of Justin Bieber’s Calvin Klein Ad is Ahmazing

It was only a matter of time before parodies of Justin Bieber and Lara Stone’s Calvin Klein campaign started rolling in, and we’re so glad The Bondi Hipsters have kicked things off.  The pair took to Facebook yesterday to show fans their personal take on the shoot, this time with chest hair, love handles and man-on-man fondling. Be warned: the results will leave you in stitches.

Dom Nader and Adrian Archer — real nahms Christiaan Van Vuuren and Nick Boshie — told their Facebook fans that, although they commend Biebs for giving “zero shits” in the campaign, and refer to his modelling skills as “groundbreaking and heroic,” they feel they’ve brought “something edgier and slightly more realistic to the table.” That they did, picking belly button lint and taking even more piss with hashtags like #mydeadeyes and #mystolenchildhood replacing the now-famous #mycalvins.

Karl Lagerfeld Shoots Justin Bieber for V Magazine

Image: Courtesy V Magazine

Who knew that 2015 would kick off with a week unofficially dedicated to Justin Bieber? A few months ago, Bieber hinted that he was working on a project with Karl Lagerfeld. We knew it was a photoshoot, but for whom? Well, we have our answer today. The singer sat down with Kaiser Karl to be interviewed and photographed for V Magazine‘s music issue.

Since Justin is just the absolute worst at keeping his shirt on, the singer poses topless in Saint Laurent jeans, giving that half-tortured tough guy, half-confused wrinkled forehead look he’s so fond of. In the interview, Justin talks about how he hopes to expand his career, namely into the realm of film and fashion — though we imagine a Justin Bieber clothing line may not have a wide range of shirts. Or possibly, any at all.

V Magazine‘s music issue hits newsstands January 15. But if you can’t wait, you can order a copy from the V Magazine shop

Did Patrick Demarchelier Really Shoot This ‘Lazy’ Vogue Russia Cover? (Forum Buzz)

Vogue Russia has been receiving a lot of flack from forum members lately for its unremarkable covers. Unfortunately, the magazine’s February issue isn’t exactly helping matters. A magazine like Vogue usually screams glamour, but there’s a lack of pizzazz on this one, even with Saskia de Brauw sporting a pair of unusual embellished jeans. Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, we can’t understand how such a boring concept was executed.

“The covers are getting worse and worse from VR. To think I once adored this edition! This image is an outtake, or a light test shot at best, only a fool would grant it worthy of publishing! Not even A-list photographers can elevate when working for them. But I digress!” expressed Miss Dalloway as soon as the cover was posted.

“Lazy. Saskia deserves better,” added Nepenthes.

Srdjan was also left underwhelmed: “Gotta agree with you guys. I used to like Russian Vogue covers, they had some aesthetics I admired, but now – I don’t even bother to check out the covers sometimes.”

GlamorousBoy described the cover as “very ordinary.” Ouch!

“I hate those jeans, however I still think Saskia looks great,” shared fashionlover2001.

“It’s a surprising choice for Vogue Russia. I’m happy to see a MODEL. I’m sick of seeing models-celebs all the time. Saskia looks really good. Everything’s working here. I like the blue layout and not too much text. Much better than [a] month ago!” commented narcyza, whose post stuck out from the rest.

Do you think Vogue Russia even tried this month? Stay tuned for the issue’s content and add your own two cents here.

J.W.Anderson Launches Pre Fall 2015 Collection on Instagram

In recent years, Instagram has taken the fashion world by storm, making once exclusive runway shows and collections more accessible to the public with the search of a hashtag. As brands and designers continue to incorporate social media into their marketing efforts, they’re devising new and exciting ways to use the platform. Yesterday, J.W.Anderson did just that and exclusively launched his entire Pre-Fall 2015 collection on Instagram. Think of it as a virtual runway, if you will.

As the photos streamed, online fans went crazy for the retro-infused line which was awash with 60s and 70s trend inspirations. Flared trousers reigned supreme, revealing just a sneaky peek of boots underneath as the colour palette popped and collars came up high. More is definitely more as oversized details are key with features like cuffs appearing stylishly excessive.  It’s certainly a collection for the vintage lover with lots of on-point elements aligning with the current fashion mood. Peter Lindbergh Returns to Photograph Donna Karan’s Ad Campaign (Forum Buzz)

Many of the campaigns this season are questionable and obvious, so we were quite pleased to see the latest from Donna Karan. The American fashion designer tapped model Andreea Diaconu to showcase her Spring 2015 collection and enlisted Peter Lindbergh to make a triumphant return (his last campaign for the brand was back in 2007 with Hilary Rhoda). We think the German photographer is the perfect choice, so it should come as no surprise that we’re head over heels for everything, from the casting to the artsy backdrop.

Forum members were quick to descend on the thread when the campaign first surfaced. “This is amazing! Andreea never disappoints me!” praised john2elmejor, getting us off to a positive start.

“The backdrop is my favorite thing about it, but the whole thing looks nice. Andreea is a great choice for DK,” MyNameIs complimented.

Also full of praise was Nepenthes, who simply described the campaign as “Stellar!” inside the thread. “Flawless” was the word burbuja8910 used in regards to the campaign. It’s safe to say that we have a handful of admirers here!

Nymphaea later added: “Gorgeous concept!”

“She looks great imo. I wish the dress didn’t blend so much with the background but still, I want to see more!” shared an optimistic kokobombon, who was probably pleased when the full campaign surfaced inside the thread earlier today.
