Now You Can Smell Like Anja Rubik

Anja Rubik can add “perfume connoisseur” to her list of accomplishments as the model follows in the footsteps of so many other rich and famous types with the launch of her new fragrance.

Rubik, whose catwalk credits include Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Isabel Marant and (most importantly) Kanye West, is diversifying with her first scent, Original, which has notes of green tea, pink pepper and amber. The perfume just sold out on Net-a-Porter, but Colette still has some 50mL bottles available for $105.

Colette notes that the fragrance has a subtle scent, so if you’re the type who likes people to lean in real close in order to smell you, it sounds like this might be the one for you.

Alexander Wang Debuts Racy Ads for New Denim Collection

Alexander Wang is launching a denim collection next week and he’s debuting the range with a set of racy, Steven Klein shot ads starring model Anna Ewers.

Taking notes from denim ads of yore (like Calvin Klein and Guess), Wang went all out for his first effort, shooting Anna fully naked, save for a pair of his jeans pulled down to her ankles as she lounges on a loveseat. Her nipples are obscured only by the Wang logo. But the image that’s bound to get people really talking doesn’t even show the model’s face: It’s merely a crotch shot of the model oiled up with her pants down, her hands in standard, ahem, self-pleasuring position.

A Closer Look at Victoria’s Secret’s Blingiest Fashion Show Outfit to Date

Can’t get enough of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show? Neither can the folks at Swarovski. The crystal brand has lent its precious stones for the 12th year to bring some bling to the show, and this time, there’s more sparkle than ever before. For the big event, Swarovski created a look for Lily Donaldson, spangled with 150,000 crystals — more than it’s ever used for a Victoria’s Secret piece before.

The outfit, consisting of the obligatory bra and panties, also boasted a sculptural corset, fringed skirt and huge butterfly wings. Lily donned the sparkly look for the “Fairy Tale” segment of the show, but you’ll never get to fully experience the gorgeousness of her outfit from the runway. Looks like this deserves to be seen up close and personal.

Peep these behind-the-scenes images of her epic ensemble — and try to tell us you’re not absolutely dazzled. We dare you. (more…)

A Wig-Wearing Abbey Lee Kershaw Returns for Hugo Boss Spring 2015 Ad Campaign (Forum Buzz)

We should’ve known this was coming after she opened the show during New York Fashion Week in September: Abbey Lee Kershaw stars in the Spring 2015 advertising campaign for Hugo Boss. Jason Wu tapped the Aussie beauty to front his second campaign for the German brand and kept photographic duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin from last season to lens the images. The womenswear campaign is fresh and simple with a modern twist as Abbey sports a blunt blond wig, while standing before a classic studio backdrop, allowing the clothes and accessories to do the talking. Abbey previously fronted the Hugo by Hugo Boss campaign back in 2011.

Our forum members had mixed reactions toward the new campaign. “Why did they give Abbey that god awful hairstyle? The hair from the runway show would have looked so much sleeker. I can’t even look at anything else,” slammed valliaddict.

Benn98 was also underwhelmed with the result and echoed, “Eek! Not what I expected, Abbey doesn’t look her best here. Hopefully the rest will be better.”

GivenchyHomme just simply wasn’t feeling Hugo Boss’ offering this season and proclaimed, “I prefer last season’s campaign with Edie. Abbey isn’t doing it for me.”

Opinions shortly changed inside the thread, though. “I like Abbey’s pic a lot. It seems that they continued the idea of last season, but it’s an improvement so kudos to Abbey,” enthused a satisfied Avogadro.

“In love with Abbey’s picture as well. I don’t mind the hairstyle so much, it’s very Abbey and Abbey is just pure love,” shared a positive anlabe32.

Nepenthes was also a fan: “I actually really love Abbey’s shot!”

“Love Abbey’s presence, kinda breaks with the brand’s overall boredom imo,” stated kokobombon.

Charlie Siem is the face of the menswear campaign. Check out his shot for Hugo Boss’ Spring 2015 ad campaign inside the thread and join the discussion here.

Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne Hug It Out for LOVE Magazine

We’re starting to think Katie Grand may be just a little obsessed with Kendall Jenner. The editrix has been hooking up the buzzy model with gigs for Marc Jacobs, Giles and more, and put her on the cover of LOVE‘s last issue. She even added her to the magazine’s advent calendar. Well, it seems Grand was extremely pleased with the response from Kendall’s first performance because she’s tapped her for another issue.

This time, Kendall, her face obscured, straddles Cara Delevingne in a black and white photo lensed by Sølve Sundsbø. The pair wore Bottega Veneta outfits for the shot, but you wouldn’t be able to tell since, well, it looks more like they’re rocking Hanes separates.

This is yet another score for Kendall, who simply won’t be stopped in the fashion industry. Get ready to see even more of her in 2015.

Freja Beha Erichsen Shows Off ‘The New Natural’ on UK Vogue’s January Cover (Forum Buzz)

Kate Moss’ festive December covers for U.K. Vogue are about to disappear from newsstands as we move swiftly on to the January issue. Released via its website earlier today, the British glossy welcomes Freja Beha Erichsen back to its cover, marking the Danish model’s fifth appearance since her debut for the magazine back in August 2010. Photographed by Alasdair McLellan wearing a casual sweater and jeans from Gucci, Freja stands before a warm beige background with her brunette tresses styled into a 70s-inspired hairdo.

Naturally, our forum members began to weigh in the moment the cover surfaced. “Very down to earth, not really my cup of tea. Her hair looks too fuzzy, love her face, her left eye has more mascara than the right and too much sparkle in both eyes. The cover looks better from afar than in close-up,” commented Nymphaea, not getting us off to a positive start.

“Very random to choose Freja and boring as hell,” added an underwhelmed jj36.

Forum member marsnoop2 simply posted the word “drab” inside the thread. Ouch!

“I love the color scheme. I love the fact that it is Freja and she’s undeniably beautiful. I love the softness of the cover and it’s a relaxing one to look at. But somehow looking at the image thoroughly gives me the impression of it being a catalog shot. It’s like a Nordstrom catalog shot,” proclaimed MON.

But a select few forum members approved. “I like it. It’s a beautiful clean and simple cover,” noted fashionlover2001.

Mrs.T was certainly an admirer and enthused, “I just love seeing her on the covers!!”

Also appreciative was Cosmic Voices: “There’s a slightly disheveled, throwback, anarchic girl vibe that really identifies itself with British Vogue imo so this cover is pretty perfect. I love Freja too so that helps.”
