‘Sexy’ Is the Theme for Adriana Lima’s LOVE Advent Short

When you look like Adriana Lima, people will forgive you for starring in a Christmas Eve video that isn’t even festive. It’s just the way the world works. For one of LOVE magazine’s last entries on its advent calendar, the model whips her wet hair and writhes on the ground in a simple black leotard as the camera runs in reverse. This seems to be a theme LOVE has really enjoyed on this advent calendar. Gigi Hadid starred in a similarly-shot short for the magazine earlier this week with the same director, Daniel Jackson.

Watch Adriana, the non-festive sexpot, in the video above.

It’s that time of year when we begin to wonder which designers to keep an eye on for 2015 and Fashion Scout has just released its predictions for next season’s most promising emerging designers. Renowned for spotting some of the best creative talent, Fashion Scout has supported the likes of Eudon Choi and Felder Felder, amongst many more of our favourites.

For Fall 2015, Fashion Scout’s focus is set firmly on four designers: Australian Kim Stevenson, who showcased at Graduate Fashion Week; Minju Kim, the 2013 winner of H&M’s Design Awards; Jinhee Moon from the London College of Fashion and Not Just a Label; and Angel Chen, a Central Saint Martins graduate. Chen has specialized in womenswear and her designs play with colour and pattern, with handmade embroidery being a key trait.

A Japanese Woman on Vogue Japan’s Front Cover, Finally! (Forum Buzz)

We have to hand it to Vogue Japan for finally delivering a cover with a Japanese native on its front cover. Rinko Kikuchi graces the magazine’s February 2015 issue, lensed by Tom Craig, showcasing a vibrant creation from Junya Watanabe. The team behind Vogue Japan must have been feeling the need for change as this is Craig’s first cover shoot for the publication. We often loathe when actresses take covers away from our beloved models, but on this one occasion, we welcome Rinko with open arms.

But are our forum members impressed with the outcome? “Great to see they put a star on the cover, cool choice,” raves chanelh kicking us off on a positive note.

“Yay for someone Japanese on the cover of Vogue Japan!” credits A.D.C.

Also giving the cover some love is TheoG: “Love this! It’s the traditional Vogue Japan cover but I love Rinko, she should have got the February cover last year for her film Kumiko but I’ll take this.”

Starry posts, “I absolutely love this!!! So thrilled to see they put a Japanese celebrity on the cover! And she is wearing Junya freaking Watanabe!!!! I am so happy!”

“How fantastic! They don’t do many celeb covers, but this I like,” echos Miss Dalloway.

It wouldn’t be the forums if it weren’t for the diverse opinions of our members, however. “Even Vogue Japan is putting celebs on its covers. The end of the world is coming,” states an unimpressed Creative.

Gazebo even goes as far as to say, “Just shut down Vogue and let’s get it over with.”

Why Does Dolce & Gabbana Repeat the Same Advertising Concept Again and Again? (Forum Buzz)

As soon as the collection was shown in Milan, we already envisioned how the Dolce & Gabbana campaign would look. The Italian designers continue to stay true to their roots and give us a vision of family-oriented lifestyle in advertising. Although this time around, there’s a hint of Spanish culture infused in the photos with a bullfighter present and some flamenco dancing. The campaign even features some elderly women to give the concept a touch of authenticity. Models Bianca Balti, Blanca Padilla, Irina Sharipova, Vittoria Ceretti, Misa Patinsky, Travis Cannata and Xavier Serrano appear in the campaign, captured by Stefano Gabbana (yes, he’s shooting his own campaigns!).

Dolce & Gabbana Ad Campaign Spring 2015

Our forum members are currently debating the new campaign inside the thread. “Blanca? Glad to see Xavier too, he’s a total cutie. Oh, and now I realize the bullfighter is José Manzanares. They went for an all Spanish cast,” shared Creative, but went on to post, “I’m not even going to comment on the campaign.”

“Same old same old only this time the lighting is awful imo…I wonder how do they cast the older women? It would be nice if they’re the crew’s mothers or grandmothers,” asked kokobombon.

“Great casting, but yet, another repeat of past campaigns,” noted justaguy.

Also not showing much enthusiasm was quangthinh, who wrote, “Looks very amateur (as always).”

Although things started to look up. “I think my problem is the composition, and a better photographer would have fixed that. That being said, I love the cast and the theme, and that video is INCREDIBLE! Best Dolce campaign in a long time,” credited marsnoop2.

Forum member thatsfierce also appeared to be a fan: “I like a couple of shots. I think it is better than the older campaigns.”

Surfer-Turned-Model Anastasia Ashley Thinks Terry Richardson Is ‘Awesome’

Pro surfer-cum-model Anastasia Ashley doesn’t have an agent, but she definitely manages to scoop up some top-notch gigs. Ashley has worked for Sports IllustratedMaxim and Esquire, has modeled alongside Chrissy Teigen and posed for one of the most controversial figures in fashion, Terry Richardson. The photographer has had a pretty rough year, with more women coming forward with claims of sexual assault.

But Richardson’s troubled reputation didn’t stop Ashley from working with him. And she says the experience was actually quite pleasant. “Terry is awesome. He’s one of the most professional and nicest photographers I’ve ever worked with,” she told The Daily Beast. “There’s just a level of experience and knowledge that… It’s no wonder why he’s one of the most popular photographers in the world. He’s really good at making people feel comfortable, and really having fun, so that was a great experience.” How nice that she had such a good time.

Ashley sympathizes with Richardson’s troubles, but thinks the criticism he’s received is just a symptom of his fame. “I think it’s crazy. I feel like it’s unfortunate that a lot of people in the public eye can get people coming after them. I don’t know the situation’s ins and outs, so I can’t speak directly on that, but I know it’s hard being in any position in the public eye. There’s more scrutiny, and there’s more people looking for a reason to put you down.”

Well, that’s one way of looking at it.

Watch: Kendall and Kris Jenner Team Up for Love’s Advent Calendar

Another day, another buzzy entry on Love magazine’s advent calendar. But today’s Christmas-themed video of scantily-clad models contains not one, but two familiar faces. It seems Love magazine has a huge girl crush on the Jenner women. They tapped both Kendall and mother Kris to appear in earlier shorts on the calendar.

Well it looks like the Jenner girls were so nice, Love had no choice but to use them twice. This time, Kris and Kendall team up for a sexy Christmastime mother-daughter dance… just before destroying a plastic Christmas tree. The Doug Inglish-directed flick shows the two dressed in Philipp Plein by fashion editor Anthony Unwin.

Something about dancing in sexy lingerie with your mom seems a little strange to us, but it seems to work for Love and the Jenners, so power on, ladies.
