REMEMBERING MODELS LINA MARULANDA AND AMBROSE OLSEN

Rising star in the male modeling world Amrbose Olsen died unexpectedly on April 22th in New York City. The cause of death of the Alaskan born model is still unknown, though there have been reports that it may have been a suicide. It’s no secret that becoming a household name is exponentially more difficult for male models than it is for their female counterparts (and the modeling world is perhaps the only arena in which males typically earn less than females), but with ad campaigns for Armani Exchange, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, D&G, Natutica, Dior Homme, and many more underneath his belt, Olsen was well on his way to making a palpable mark.

Sadly, April 22th brought more heart breaking news, as it was also the day that Columbian model and TV presenter Lina Marulanda took her life when she jumped off the balcony of her sixth-floor apartment and fell to her death. She is believed to have committed suicide, and it has been reported that before jumping to her death, she locked herself in her room in panic over the recent divorce with her second husband, Carlos Onate, with whom she had been married for only three months.
