Vanity Fair Oscars Party Red Carpet 2011

For most of us, Oscar night ends with the ceremony and we head to bed dreaming of the red carpet gowns, but for Hollywood, the night continues (or begins) with a series of after parties. The Vanity Fair Oscar party at the Sunset Tower Hotel is the kind of party where legendary stories are made and it has its own red carpet as hot as the awards. For those not invited to the ceremony, this is their opportunity to shine, and there were some definite hits last night.

Young actors Ginnifer Goodwin and Emma Stone take the prize for most fashion forward. In Erdem and Chanel Haute Couture respectively, the two stars made daring choices that didn’t shy away from color or texture, but also managed to keep it quirky and age appropriate.

Jessica Biel, whose partner Justin Timberlake was joined by his mother at the ceremony, wore an intricately beaded nude Versace complemented by a minimalist beauty look. With lace being a key trend of the night, fashion darling Zooey Deschanel followed suit in a sheer, but strikingly demure, Valentino from Spring 2011.

Hollywood’s finest might make up the majority of the red carpet, but the evening’s festivities were filled with designers too. Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, and L’Wren Scott were just a few of the designers that made their way across the red carpet in person, and not just on the backs of this week’s best dressed.
