There’s a trend taking wing among celebrities like Clemence Poesy, Diane Kruger, Caroline Sieber, and more—dresses and skirts embellished with feathers. Far from the tacky feathers we’re used to seeing on boas, celebs are donning gorgeous designer gowns covered in feathers.

Diane Kruger made a Black Swan transformation in her black feathered Jason Wu sheath with long lace sleeves, Tabitha Simmons heels, and a stunning red lip. Former Irish Miss World Rosanna Davison rocked an ostrich-inspired black and cream feathered mini by Forever Unique in Vienna at the Life Ball. At the 22nd Annual MuchMusic Video Awards. Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell wore a fun black feathered skirt by ASOS with a jewel-encrusted corset top and peep toe pumps.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Caroline Sieber wore a downy feathered Chanel dress in snowy white at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in London. Chanel is loving feathers this season and at the same event English model Laura Bailey wore another feathered dress by the designer from their 2011 RTW collection, in robin’s egg blue. (Birds of a feather flock together, Emma Roberts wore the same frock earlier this year.) Clemence Poesy wore yet another Chanel feathered dress at the designer’s Collection Croisiere show. Her mustard yellow tweed-and-feathers shift was an unlikely but chic blend of haute couture and Big Bird.

Charlize Theron took some heat for covering up the white feathered Dior dress that she wore to the launch of Dior VIII in NYC with an oversized black blazer. Uma Thurman looked gorgeous in the white Versace gown with feather trim and a sweetheart neckline she wore with Chopard emerald earrings at the Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony. Kirsten Dunst also brought feathers to the Cannes red carpet on Day 12 in a Chanel couture gown with a cream feathered skirt and silver beaded bodice.
