140 Character London Fashion Week Reviews, Spring 2012

What else but London Fashion Week would fashionistas bother to tweet about this week? We’ve rounded up reactions and opinions from Rachel Zoe, Eliza Doolittle, Susanna Lau, and other fashion insiders.

Tom Ford’s runway looks left Rachel Zoe almost speechless. “I can't breathe from the Tom Ford presentation..there r no words for his genius..xoRZ,” she tweeted.

One British popstar went wild for Mulberry’s undersized outerwear. “Loving the #mulberry show…specially the crop top rain coats!” tweeted Eliza Doolittle, who has been spotted in many a London front row. Another stylish singer loved the looks at House of Holland. "Henry's collection was amazing! I ♥it.. Go @henryholland.. x” tweeted Nicola Roberts.

The jaw-dropping hair and makeup at fashion week can often be overshadowed by the clothes and the models who wear them, but the beauty at Topshop wasn’t lost on beauty and fashion writer Grace Timothy. “Gorgeous use of @DawsonLizzie's makeup by @hannah_murray1 today @topshop!” she tweeted. And Marian Kihogo experienced hair envy at one show. “My hair is jealous of the Thakoon spring 2012 girl's hair,” tweeted the celeb stylist.

Susanna Lau commented on Acne’s marriage of contrasting elements. “Maximal colliding with minimal at @acneonline– a wild array of textures,” tweeted the blogger behind Susie Bubble. But the more cool and casual looks at Margaret Howell won over Laetitia Wajnapel. “As i suspected the Margaret Howell show was wonderful, full of crisp whites, shirts + relaxed tailoring," tweeted the Mademoiselle Robot editor.

Stylist Rebekah Roy had a stand-out favorite. “Loved @Ziad_ghanem Haven't felt this happy after a show in ages!” she gushed.

As the week came to a close, fashion journalist Melanie Rickey noticed that it wasn’t just the fashion week attendees who were trending toward the exhausted. “We've had pajamas nighties & now djellebahs on the runway this week, as high fashion. Relaxing,” she tweeted.
