Award show season continued on January 25th with the 15th annual SAG Awards. As was the case with most stars at the Golden Globes, the hair and makeup were kept natural, the bold baubles were kept to a minimum, and the gowns were mostly monochromatic with simple detailing.
That said, many stars seemed inspired by the brightly hued lemongrass Isabel Toledo number Michelle Obama wore, as well as the one shoulder ivory Jason Wu gown she donned the day of the inauguration as single strap (Viola Davis, Evan Rachel Wood, Laura Linney, Teri Hatcher…) and brights (Claire Danes, Christina Applegate, Katrina Bowden…) were aplenty amidst the more natural hues and black looks.
Of note was Anne Hathaway, who showed off her svelte figure in a white Azzaro gown, while Angelina Jolie went demure in a flowing deep navy Max Azria number. Also in blue was Kate Winslet in a cobalt Narciso Rodriguez gown.
Katie Holmes’ asymmetrical Jil Sander gown did a wonderful job complementing her chopped hair, while Penelope Cruz was surprisingly forgettable in oddly chosen Azzedine Alaia black gown. Lastly, Eva Longoria Parker went the princess-esque route with a citrus-hued Jenny Packham gown.
