TILDA SWINTON TO BE THE NEW FACE OF PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND

Known for her quirky style and unique look just as much as she is for her Oscar wining acting chops, Tilda Swinton will be the new face of Pringle of Scotland menswear and women’s wear collections for their Spring Summer 2010 campaign.

The ads will be shot by photographer Ryan McGinley in Scotland and there will be an accompanying short film of Swinton (a la Chanel, we’re guessing). Pringle’s director of global communications, Benoit Duverger remarked that the label did not want to go away from their traditional customers and that they believe that Swinton is more inclusive, as “both young and more mature people identify with her acting.”

Speaking of Pringle of Scotland, they will be joining Matthew Williamson, Burberry, Clements Ribeiro, and many more when they return to London this year for the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week. The print images from the upcoming Swinton campaign will be on display to coincide with the label’s runway show.  To fete Pringle of Scotland’s 195th anniversary this year, the brand has asked Scottish artist David Shrigley to create a billboard, inspired by the Pringle of Scotland staple twin set, that will be displayed in London Underground stations for the duration of London Fashion Week.
