Stars Up the Ante for Nicole Richie’s Golden Slipper Appearance

We really love it when a stylish celebrity comes to town. Yes, it’s fun to see if they choose Australian threads while down under, but it’s also pretty ah-mazing to see how our style mavens up the wardrobe ante in the presence of fashion greatness.

This is what it was like at Sydney’s Golden Slipper Carnival on Saturday, March 21, when Nicole Richie stepped out as the official ambassador. While we’re pretty disappointed that she didn’t wear an Aussie label (she opted for Balmain instead), at least our other fashion favourites really got in the race wear spirit for the superstar’s attendance.

See the looks below.

Nicole opted for a velvet zebra-striped mini by Balmain, with minimal ankle-strap heels and understated headwear. Considering outfits are always pretty ladylike and feminine for racing events down under, we were pleasantly surprised to see Nicole bring her fashionable edge to the track.

Newly appointed Myer ambassador Rachel Finch looked to a bright-blue By Johnny midi dress with a layered frill across the bust. She teamed the cutesy frock with a gold-flower headband and T-bar pumps for an extra-girlie look.

Fellow ambassador Jodi Anasta went ultra feminine in a sheer Maticevski ensemble with adorable white-flower detailing, complete with a semi-dangerous silver-spiked crown. Hopefully she refrained from any headbutting during the event.
