From floral appliqués to pretty pleats and rich brocade, texture reigned supreme this week. Even footwear got in on the act, providing plenty of kick via a variety of 3-D accents. Patterns were also popular as stars stepped out in abstract prints and fresh blossoms in a wash of vivid colors. Necklines covered a wide range, including one-shoulder, plunging and unconventionally off-the-shoulder. This year’s Venice International Film Festival has barely begun and we’re already being bombarded with a cavalcade of chic looks, which aren’t strictly relegated to the premieres.
