Stars certainly didn’t play it safe this week. From daring splices to retro-inspired pieces and even one dress that practically no one thought would work off the runway, celebs opted to take quite a few chances on the red carpet. Hemlines were not only wide-ranging, but several versions featured unique accents like ruffles, layers and uneven cuts. While the recent Spring 2016 collections remained popular, they shared the spotlight with picks from both the Fall 2015 and Resort 2016 offerings. Color was highly favored, especially bright reds and soft pinks. Perhaps rather fittingly with all the risk-taking going on, shoes were relatively low-key as to not steal focus, although a couple actresses did add a bit of kick in the form of equally dynamic footwear.
