HELLO KITTY CONTINUES TO BE EMBLAZENED ON EVERYTHING

Admittedly it’s possible to feel a little overwhelmed by Hello Kitty as the image of the pink and white cat has been emblazoned on anything and everything, from cars and diet pills to vacuum cleaners and credit cards.  Hello Kitty’s latest collaboration takes her into the world of high fashion where she mixes kawaii and couture in equal measure.

Following on the heels, or perhaps that should be paws, of the cartoon cat’s success as a model in the June issue of Vogue Nippon Parisian lifestyle store Colette is currently offering a pair of Hello Kitty mobile phone charms.

Each charm features the fabulous feline in an ensemble from Dior’s Fall 2008 collection, which she modeled in its entirety in the magazine (in addition to finding the time to rub furry shoulders with John Galliano, Carine Roitfeld, and Irina Lazarneau).

At this point, having mentioned Hello Kitty’s world domination in the sphere of branding, it may be worthwhile to point out that these Dior charms may be attached to the label’s latest foray into the world of communications, the “My Dior” phone.

Though, at $5,000 or the basic version and $26,000 for the luxury model, you may decide that the charms will suffice…
