CHINA AND THE HOUSE OF DIOR’S MUTUAL INSPIRATION

Next month, inspired by the master couturier, the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing will hold an exhibition spread across 32,000 feet titled “Christian Dior and Chinese Artists.” The house of Dior, whose inspiration can often be traced back to China, will have some of its dresses displayed alongside over 20 specially commissioned works.

The original Dior pieces will include pieces from Christian Dior himself as well as newer ones from John Galliano. Fine jewelry by Victoire de Castellane, men’s wear by Kris Van Assche, perfumes, and accessories will also be displayed alongside video works, photography, paintings, sculptures, and a gardenlike installation.
