Things are about to get hairy in 2009. Designers showcased collections with fluffy trim and feathers galore for a lighter, more optimistic perspective of the future.  Short cocktail dresses, bolero jackets and full-length gowns were shown with slight, marabou trim as well as fully covered in feathers in a various palette of colors.

Christopher Kane creates a nighty ready for the town in a nude, silk dress with a soft, boa hem and neckline.

Sonia Rykiel dresses models head to toe in rows of feathers for a red carpet ready look.

Francesco Scognamiglio creates a goose feather mini dress with a heart neckline.

Louis Vuitton layers a mini feather dress over a long sleeve blouse and belts it at the waist.

D Squared adds a little flare to a jumpsuit with a feather evening jacket.

And for the finale, L’wren Scott drapes a full-length cape of pristine white feathers over a skinny pair of white pants and spandex top.

Playful, exotic and fun, try to land yourself something fluffy for New Years to get this trend rolling and shaking up 2009 a little earlier than planned.
