Images have just been released of the upcoming Spring 2009 catalog campaign for Spanish Retail giant, MANGO. The campaign stars longtime French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld’s children — Julia and Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld.
Julia is a social fixture, model and aspiring designer, while her brother is a model and artist. The photo shoot, held in Barcelona, was taken by the acclaimed Spanish photographer Txema Yeste.
Julia Restoin now lives in New York and has been featured in advertising campaigns for Tom Ford and Gap. She defines her dress style as classic and girly, with a rock and roll element, and is inspired by the model Agyness Deyn. She cites Brigitte Bardot, Romy Schneider, and Catherine Deneuve as her fashion icons. She said, via a press release, that her timeless must-haves are high-heeled shoes, a trench coat, jean shorts, and the classic black mini-dress.
For his part, Vladimir Restoin grew up in France until he was 18, when he moved to Los Angeles to take up film and business studies. He now lives in New York with his sister, where he runs his own production company.
The MANGO collection for the new season is inspired by nature and modern landscape. It is defined by clean, architectural silhouettes in which both menswear trends and 80’s fashion play a key role. The color palette includes watery blues, pure whites, skin tones, grey shades, and pearl rose combined with vibrant touches of lime and tangerine.
HE Homini Emerito (MANGO’s men’s line), presents a very urban casual chic inspired by the modern dandy this season. It features structured shorts, sports jackets and waistcoats, paired with pleated check shirts and pique-knit polo shirts. Blue tones form an important part of the color palette, as do grays and whites with acidic touches of lime, orange, electric blue and pink, with check and stripe fantasy elements.
