TREND: SLIM SILHOUETTES

Over-the-top, exaggerated silhouettes have been seen on the runways for Fall 2009.  However, the skinny look is still going strong.  Shown as skintight cocktail dresses, skinny pants paired with billowing tops or painted-on blouses that reveal every little imperfection, these looks aren’t leaving anything to the imagination. Pairing layers of slim fitting separates, such as leggings with a pencil skirt, creates an illusion of being covered while still showing off the female form. Luckily, designers were able to keep the looks fresh and less 1980’s inspired, which can be hard to do with a pair of bright leggings.

It’s difficult to look slim in white, and even more difficult when you are covered from head to toe in layers of white snug fitting layers. Amazingly, Lacoste manages to do so while still creating a look that you’ll want to cozy up in this winter.

Scared to keep things so close? Don’t fret – pair a billowy top to a pair of the new version of skinny pants so you can enjoy your carbs during dinner without worry.
