TREND: FAUX FUR FASHION

Faux fur is making a comeback this fall because of creative new textures and designs. In the past, faux fur got a bad rap for looking cheap and uninspired. Boring designs were produced in scary “muppet-esque” fabrics which were not exactly enticing to fashionistas.

Now designers are changing this stereotype with incredibly inventive fabrics and unique cuts that are sure to please fashionable animal lovers. Metallic faux leathers, python-looking textures and silks brushed with exotic looking mops are sure to be crowd pleasers this season.

Fashion-forward Roland Mouret takes trendy leggings to a new level with exotic, croc-inspired metal colored fabrics.

A true Vegan advocate, Stella McCartney shines things up in a sparkly, teal, faux leather bomber jacket.

Even menswear designers are hopping on the faux fur bandwagon as seen in Acne’s Fall 2009 collection with faux fur mittens and furry, fitted jackets.

Whether it’s a pleather, metallic separate or a fur-inspired print, modern interpretations of the faux fur trend are hot for Fall 2009. With options this hot, you may never go back to the real thing again.
