HoYeon Jung’s Vogue February 2022 Cover Receives Mixed Reviews

There’s something going on over at Vogue and we definitely approve! Following years of crying out for Anna Wintour to give us cover stars who’ve never graced the American fashion bible before, she’s finally delivering. In just the last six months, we’ve witnessed both Lorde and Olivia Wilde make their debut. Now Vogue‘s February 2022 cover star is HoYeon Jung. After a recent stint on Vogue Korea, the South Korean model turned actress fronts American Vogue‘s latest wearing a cape and a dress from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2022 collection selected by stylist Alex Harrington for the image shot by Harley Weir.

Immediately, the cover sparked debate across our forums. “Wow it looks so good. So modern!” exclaimed caioherrero.

“WOW! Literally the first cover of U.S. Vogue in a very long time that I (really) like,” confessed Zorka.

DK92 was pleasantly surprised: “I’m impressed, a great improvement for Vogue U.S.!”

“I can’t with this. This would be good for some, I don’t know, Vogue Portugal random unimportant month, but Vogue U.S.? I know they have to close the Asian representation quota so Twitter won’t cancel them again, but at least make an effort,” wrote dontbeadrag.

“Loving the cover subject, but hate the font and the hair,” complained amby.

“A refreshing choice of cover star, but this new typography treatment is dreadful… The cover would have been great with a location background and a better layout,” noted LastNight.

Meanwhile, vogue28 wasn’t exactly jumping for joy, either. “A truly hideous cover with not one redeeming feature. I appreciate it’s a stark departure from previous covers, but I would’ve much preferred HoYeon Jung getting the quintessential American Vogue cover treatment as opposed to this eyesore.”
