6. Gay Mannequins
While we love this gay pride window by Macy’s back in 2006, a conservative religious site, called MassResistance, wasn’t so fond of the display. They described the mannequins as having “enlarged breasts,” with one wearing a “rainbow skirt” (clearly a flag, idiots) and organised a campaign to get the window changed. Unfortunately, Macy’s caved almost immediately after an influx of calls and removed the mannequins.
Thankfully the whole ordeal didn’t stop other windows respecting diversity, like this cute Levi Strauss window display.
