Etro S/S 2011: Milan Fashion Week

Founded in 1968 by Gimmo Etro, the family-owned company is famous for its kaleidoscope prints and paisley textiles. With this in mind, the spring collection is a modernized throwback to the label’s roots – and a successful one at that. The spirit of eclecticism and eccentricity runs through a cohesive collection of dresses and separates that exemplify easy, summer dressing.

Veronica Etro combined classic, sophisticated silhouettes with tribal-inspired patterns that, with a few exceptions, could easily be integrated into the modern woman’s wardrobe.

Matching patterned separates were shown alongside modern printed scarf dresses and casual pantsuits. Besides the trendy prints, a simple t-shirt dress and the voluminous, solid-colored peasant dresses were the standouts in a season filled with clutter.
