Elie Saab S/S 2011: Paris Fashion Week

Gorgeous, red carpet gowns summed up the Elie Saab show in Paris. Although there were a few ready-to-wear pieces, and one gorgeous print that was wrapped into about 10 different looks, the strong point here was eveningwear. The dresses were silky, fluid, and decadent, with light beading and a soft color palette that included chartreuse, apricot, soft grey, and slate blue, highlighting the sultry details.

There was a 70s drapey feel to the collection, as the models walked down the runway to the music of Blondie and Diana Ross. Long straight hair, colorful pastel make-up, and platform shoes pumped up the volume of this 70s theme, without being too over the top.

The clothes made a statement while being wearable. They were all about movement and femininity. A goddess-like quality was prevalent in the long chiffon gowns that flew open as the models strutted down the runway. These gowns are perfect for a woman who wants to be noticed without being flagged by the fashion police.
