MTV Won’t Air Lauren Conrad’s Fashion Series; Kate Moss Signs with Dior Beaute

Lauren ConradMTV pulled Lauren Conrad's upcoming reality TV show based on her new clothing line, Paper Crown. After shooting the pilot, the network decided that the show wasn't "the perfect fit." Conrad has starred in MTV's Laguna Beach and The Hills and was looking forward to moving away from her personal life with the new series, modeled on R.J. Cutler's Vogue documentary, The September Issue. "MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience," says Conrad. "We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.” If Lauren Conrad had wanted to get "high brow" with a TV show, she shouldn't have signed a deal with the network responsible for Jersey Shore.
