Is Blake Lively the New Carrie Bradshaw?; Emmanuelle Alt Talks Paris Vogue Plans

Blake LivelyRumor has it that Blake Lively will play a high school aged Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City prequel. It's hard to imagine a SATC installment without Sarah Jessica Parker, and Lively seems too pouty and confident to play a pre-credit-card version of kooky, self-sabotaging Carrie. The Gossip Girl star might like fashion just as much as Carrie, but I can't imagine Lively in Bradshaw's get-ups. The HBO series made a fashion imprint with off-beat styling choices and playful looks that verged on costume; when Lively tries to go quirky, she still seems polished and pulled together. Even her famously disheveled hair is a little too "sheveled".  As far as the Gossip Girl crew, spunky, reckless Taylor Momsen isn't as likable as Lively, but she's a better fit to play Carrie. Now, here's a bag that Blake and Carrie might both agree on: Alexander Wang's Lia Sling leather studded messenger bag is a sleek, cream-colored (read: impractical, prone to stains) confection. [BagSnob]

In an interview, Emmanuelle Alt talks about her plans for Paris Vogue. The new Editor-In-Chief wants to bring more lifestyle content to the esteemed fashion glossy, profiling "cool people," interiors, beauty, and featuring actresses on the cover. “Even if I love to dream, I want the magazine to feature a girl who looks like she belongs in real life," says Alt. Crystal Renn comes down on critics that condemn the model's recent weight loss: "I had anorexia ultimately because someone else set the standard for me and I wanted to follow it. And if I followed what the public wanted from me or what the media wants from me I would be doing the same thing — I would have a binge eating disorder." [The Cut]
