Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2011 Runway Review

Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 2011 womenswear collection is receiving rave reviews for it’s sophistication. Hilfiger is a classic American designer, and is well known for his sporty and contemporary collections designed for the mainstream.  It looks like Fall 2011 may be his foray into high-end creations.

Hilfiger’s collection was definitely influenced by rock and roll, which was apparent in the skinny leather pants and tailored vests that made their way down the runway. A combination of bohemian and glam, the looks included printed dresses and silk pajamas, oversized hats, and dramatic capes and ponchos.

Menswear-inspired suits and tailoring were executed exceptionally well, and were produced in soft colors and windowpane prints. Chunky boots and oversized sunglasses completed the 70s look.  The looks were completed with understated hair and makeup, long straight locks, and clean faces.
