Emporio Armani Fall 2011 Runway Review

An all black collection is not unsurprising from Emporio Armani but with his signature lean silhouettes, this season also came a more youthful and relaxed girl in spite of her career in espionage. For Fall, the team at Emporio Armani was inspired by film noir and spy tales and while the inspiration was evident in all of the pieces, the designer managed to transform this idea into a very wearable and modern collection.

The occasional punch of blue and green were the only colors seen, but the modern cuts and juxtaposition of textures provided enough depth to keep the collection from becoming boring. We saw the beginnings of a younger girl for Emporio last season with the bell shaped tunics and looser styling and this was only perpetuated this season with fresher looking girls and more wearable separates.

This season we have seen designers look towards texture as a medium of expression and this has resulted in a number of wonderfully embellished and well-styled collections. Emporio Armani can always be counted on for a large collection of very retail-friendly pieces and this season was no different.
