Fredrick’s of Hollywood Fall 2011 Runway Review

Cut-outs were a major trend, once again, at some of this season’s major designer runways, but leave it to L.A.’s famed lingerie retailer, Fredrick of Hollywood, to incorporate cut-outs into bikini bottoms.

The brand’s swimwear line was reintroduced last year and this season, along with the provocatively sexy cut-out touches, bikinis came in a variety of hues and pattern iterations including turquoise, white, metallic, red, and cheetah. Paillette, stud, circular metal, and pieces of fabric tied together added visual interest to already racy swimwear silhouettes.

Given that Fredrick’s was started by the inventor of the push-up bra, it’s fitting that despite the tiny tops and diminutive bottoms that the models sported, all privates were kept securely in their place, making the lineup of suits viable for women looking to flaunt their figure.
