Barneys New York creative director and author of the recently released book Eccentric Glamour: Creating an Insanely More Fabulous You, Simon Doonan, has high-fashion at his fingertips. Unfortunately for Doonan, he is in the same boat with many women when it comes to lusting over Christian Louboutin’s red soled pumps.

Louboutin, who currently only designs for women, prompted Doonan to remark that Louboutin’s shoes are like the circus coming into town making them a total drug with no methadone –surely fashion savvy men all over the country agree! Could a men’s line be far away?
In the meantime, Doonan and the rest of us Louboutin fans can admire his gouache sketches that will be blown up and on display in the windows of the New York and Beverly Hills Barneys stores to coincide with Louboutin’s appearances on May 1st in the New York outpost and on May 7th in Beverly Hills.
