Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 Runway Review

Marc Jacobs opened his Spring 2012 Marc by Marc Jacobs show with Karolina Waz outfitted in an orange shift. Waz’s look was followed by a slew of monochrome separates and one-piece numbers done in a mix of bright and neutral tones lending an acutely mod, minimalist, and wholly wearable feel to the collection.

Adorable retro bathing suits, peplum finished skirts, and stripes all looked befitting of the likes of Elle Fanning, who was seated front row. The collection also included a series of sporty looks consisting of sweaters, vibrant-hued visors, tees (including one printed with “MJ NY ’12), and shorts. As for the shoes, the patent color-blocked ones and the sneakers with hidden heels inside stood out as particularly covetable, while top handle color-blocked clutches will surely make for popular buys when they hit stores.
