Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2012 Runway Review

If you look at this season’s Salvatore Ferragamo collection on its own, separate from the growing trends and themes of the season, it seems that Massimiliano Giornetti has thought of everything. It has daywear, resortwear, evening gowns, and separates, everything that a woman would need in her spring wardrobe, given that she was comfortable wearing bold jewel tones and silk prints all day every day. There were definite standouts in the collection, and a wonderful throw back to early-eighties glamour, but when looked at in the context of this season’s overarching aesthetic, it seems that Giornetti is a few seasons late.
