Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2012 Runway Review

Staying true to Hilfiger’s aesthetic, the collection had an over-arching preppy-ness to it, but silhouettes were distinctly military-inspired with rows of buttons down outerwear, tailored separates and coats, and cinched waists. With riding pants and hunting jackets, however, there was also a running equestrian theme pervading the collection — including the accessories (think riding hats and boots) and via a handful of prints.

Knits stood out as the collection’s strongest point, most notably a dark mustard cable-knit sweater and an olive green one, each with shoulder-area contrasting suede patches. Also worth singling out were the equestrian themed silk cable-knit print dresses. I can already see jet-setting types wearing them at The Hampton Classic come summer.
