Maison Martin Margiela Fall 2012 Runway Review

For the most part, silhouettes were wide and linear with standouts including short dresses finished with the brand’s signature asymmetric hems, high-collar outerwear and turtleneck sweaters, paneled floor length dresses, roomy menswear-inspired blazers and coats, and one can’t ignore all the Angelina Jolie-esque high slits. Speaking of daring, accessories were somewhat more avant garde with ankle boots appearing paint-splattered and pumps appearing powder dusted, while jewelry included giant cluster rings and pendants.
