Prabal Gurung Spring 2013 Runway Review

This season, Prabal Gurung succeeded in showing dresses that managed to at once be sexy and feminine, while showing a refreshingly new silhouette. Dresses with loose and slightly away from the body bodices were finished with bouncy bottoms, making a number of the looks appear as though they were a size too big — in a good way. The best ones featured dropped waists. The new plays on fit didn't work as well with the designer's trousers, however, as some of them looked in desperate need of hemming.

Inspired by Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor, layering was key this season with a number of tunics shown worn over pants or with a jacket. The Kapoor inspiration was also evident in the prints and delicate sheer fabrics.
