Emilio Pucci Spring 2013 Runway Review

All too often when talented designers in their own right take the reins at historic brands they're faced with the constant issue of trying to mix their own design aesthetic with that of the brand. With Peter Dundas, he has spent the past five years working steadily to bring Pucci, the brand famous for its 60s kaleidoscope brands, into the 21st century. With this collection, he has really hit his stride and found a place where the Dundas woman becomes the Pucci woman. When you think Pucci you don't think of Asia but the designer did well to work his influences into the collection without losing the brand's signature. That said, the first dozen looks came out without a print in sight, but the wearable glamour that was infused into every piece worked well to counter the departure from the signatures.
