Giambattista Valli Couture Spring 2013: Luxury That Ranges From Animal Print to Soft Pink

Giambattista Valli has been riding high for a few seasons now and just when you think he's done everything he can with animal print, he dazzles you with something new. This season, the designer started off his collection with a variety of structured looks that mixed his signature prints with a variety of black and white fabrics. Most of the pieces were done in an hourglass silhouette with tulle, layering and oversized ruffles adding to the visual interest of the carefully fitted shapes.

The second half of the collection was done in soft shades of pink — perhaps a nod to Jessica Biel who famously wore a pink Valli dress a few months ago when she wed Justin Timberlake. It was with these looks that embellishments took center stage, particularly with the designer's floral embroidered minis. Here again, most of the looks were nipped at the waist for a slew of Cinderella-worthy dresses and gowns.

Here's to hoping we see a celebrity wearing the cape-accented blush mini on the red carpet soon!
