Valentino Haute Couture Spring 2013: Red, Embroidery and Vintage Make for Winning Looks

Valentino fans rejoice! Arguably, Spring 2013's Haute Couture collection marked the first time that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccoli have successfully melded their penchant for 19th century-inspired designs (this season featured coronation robes, making for a particularly memorable all-white look) and vintage fabrics with Valentino's signature love of glamour.

Included in this seasons lineup of intricately embroidered gowns and dresses were a variety of stunning pieces done in the house's signature red. Whether tailored slim or more billowing, most looks emphasized the waist and, in a nod to the designers' restraint, the collection mixed heavily embroidered looks with minimalist ones that simply focused on drape for their memorable impact.
