Alexander Wang Fall 2013 Runway Review

With his new role heading up Balenciaga, the pressure was on for Alexander Wang and boy, did he deliver. While the designer stuck to his trademark black, white and grey color palette, he showed a slew of new shapes and stunning outerwear pieces. Not to mention that the models were styled with copper ponytails and that the show included fur boxing gloves.

Other notable accessories included a new accordion-like bag shape, fur trimmed shoes and shoes that looked as though they were covered by a sweater collar. As for ready-to-wear, the most notable pieces had a wrapped effect or boasted upper arm area slits. Though there was a lot to love, some of the looks did appear a bit too boxy and oversized to truly flatter, but one would imagine that the tailoring would be taken in for retail.
